Series of 8 meetings with regional stakeholders of the Bogota Region for information gathering and exchange about the regional visions, plans and project proposals of regional development
16 Oct 2012 - 11 Dec 2012UNCRD held a series of 8 meetings aimed at information gathering and exchange about the regional visions, plans and project proposals of regional development made by the key actors of the Bogota Regional Integration processes. These involved the Bogotá Capital District, the government of Cundinamarca, the 23 municipalities of the Sabana, and the governments of Meta, Tolima and Boyacá.
The meetings allowed sharing information among the different administrations regarding their planning initiatives, and projects. This information allowed the mapping/spatialization of the initiatives, which aimed at facilitating a common understanding about the existing disarticulations among the proposals of the different stakeholders, as well as the possibilities for articulation. The themes involved: (i) the regional ecosystem, (ii) water and territorial planning, (iii) mobility and transport infrastructure, (iv) basic service utilities infrastructure, (v) food security, (vi) citizen security, (vii) economic-logistic projects, (Viii) tourism.
The mapping exercise was developed in three territorial scales: (i) Bogotá-Sabana, (ii) Bogotá-Cundinamarca, (iii) Central Regions (involving 4 departments. As a result, 56 maps were generated, and a preliminary proposal of regional guidelines for territorial planning. This material served as an important input to the regional integration process and consensus building on the territorial plan for the Bogotá Region.
Participants: 50 participants overall; public officials, planning directors of Bogotá, Cundinamarca, and the municipalities of the region.
