Objectives

The objectives of the training workshop included

To improve the participants' knowledge and understanding of the broad range of urban issues to be addressed by African countries;

To provide opportunities for African planners to learn from the effective urban management experience of Singapore;

To facilitate exchange of experience and ideas while establishing institutional linkages between African and Asian planners; and

To promote South-South cooperation by building and strengthening institutional linkages between African and Asian training and planning institutions.
