Background
UNCRD Africa Office, Japan International Cooperation Association (JICA) Kenya, African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD), and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Kenya is conducting the Eighth Africa Training Course on Local and Regional Development Planning and Management in Nairobi, Kenya from 19 February to 22 March 2003. In accordance with the United Nations policies and procedures governing the administration of fellowships, the main purpose of the fellowship is to enable the participants to acquire from the training the knowledge and professional competence which will help them participate more actively in the economic and social development of their countries, and to increase their ability to solve practical problems upon their return home.
