UNCRD Contribution to the International Canal Forum Nagoya 2020 - 23 May 2021
Utilizing waterside areas for urban development has now become a global trend. The International Canal Forum Nagoya 2020, which was scheduled to be held last year, was postponed due to the need to prevent a further spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Now, one year later, the Forum has been organized online from 21 to 23 May. Designed to promote knowledge and discussion on the nature of canals and watersides, the Forum was expected to highlight the importance of watersides and the sustainability of waterside spaces from a global perspective. UNCRD Director Kazushige Endo delivered the opening remarks on 21 May, the first day of the Forum.

In addition to the Forum, an online panel exhibition on canals around the world are organized on their official website, where UNCRD's panels are also posted and introduced the activities.
