Internship Programme

The UNCRD Internship Programme is designed for postgraduate students who would like to gain a better understanding of the major problems confronting the world today, from the United Nations perspective. The Programme offers individuals the opportunity to learn through their work experience at UNCRD where they will engage in a variety of projects and daily tasks. Interns can develop insight into how the UN attempts to find solutions to the problems facing developing countries through the hands-on experience and knowledge gained during their internship assignment.

Qualification

UNCRD accepts any postgraduate students in all fields who wish to apply for the Internship Programme all year round.
Graduate level study (or equivalent) is required. For those who are in the social science or technology field relating to the environment or focusing on developing countries are especially welcomed.

Benefits

Interns will not receive any remuneration for the work, including subsidies for housing or commutation allowance, from UNCRD.

Location

Interns may be assigned to either the Nagoya, Hyogo, or Africa Offices (Kenya).

Duration

Two to six months (Minimum two months)

Visas

Interns are responsible for obtaining any necessary visas to the duty station of their assignment.
