UNCRD participated in the G-STIC 2017, 23-25 Oct, 2017, Brussels, Belgium - 23 Oct 2017
The G-STIC 2017 conference was organized from 23-25 October 2017 in Brussels, Belgium and aimed to accelerate the development, dissemination and deployment of technological innovations that enable the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are 17 internationally agreed ambitious goals to move the world to a more sustainable future by 2030. Focused on integrated technological solutions that are good for the planet, for the people and for the economy, G-STIC 2017 provides a unique chance to join the global technological innovation community that is single-mindedly devoted to enabling transitions to less carbon and resource-intensive economic development models.

Mr. CRC. Mohanty, Environment Programme Coordinator of UNCRD attended the G-STIC 2017 as a speaker for the session on Circular Economy. He presented with focus on "Asia-Pacific Perspective of 3R and Circular Economy~ Experiences from the Regional 3R Forum in Asia and the Pacific". He highlighted Adelaide 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Declaration on the Promotion of Circular Economy in Asia and the Pacific region adopted in 7the Regional 3R Forum in Adelaide, Australia, Nov 2016. He also explained that circular economy is being implemented at different levels in Asia and the Pacific region.
